I completely geek out on this stuff and my friends often ask for recommendations so here are some books, podcasts, TED talks, documentaries and shows to keep you busy in 2021 🌿 I'll be adding to this as time goes by so feel free to bookmark 🤍

Non-Fiction:

- The power of purposeful practice and the danger of the "talented" label, this book will gift you with a flexible growth mindset if you don't already have one.

- a cure for toxic perfectionism.- Basically anything by Brene Brown...

- what it says on the tin.

- fascinating look at how social behaviour and trends tip a threshold before spreading.

- the ridiculousness of the art world's economy.

- a first hand account by the United Nations Lt.General on the ground during the Rwandan genocide.

- Buddhist teachings on the art of acceptance.

- raise your vibe.

- how to be present.

Fiction:

- a beautiful perspective shifting concept, I wish everyone would read it 💞 this links to a page where you can read it for free.

- stunning writing of an epic tale set in India, based on the authors true story.

- Golden's words cloak you in a fragile beauty until you're completely in that world- I felt bereft when it ended.

- a magical survival adventure of an Indian and his zoo animals at sea.

- literal magic.

- heartbreakingly beautiful.

Neverwhere (pretty much anything written by Neil Gaiman- so creative!)

- fun, creative & set in London 👌


- exciting, magical, very creative.

- thrilling.

- A dark gripping story centring around the caste system in India.

Born A Crime - Trevor Noah reading his own autobiography 👌 - interesting and hysterical, and great for those who know little of the realities of apartheid in S. Africa. Becoming - Michelle Obama reading her own autobiography -inspiring.

Life and Laughing - Michael McIntyre - autobiography read by the one and only- honestly it will have you in stiches. Good Omens - Neil Gaiman - Martin Jarvis narrating this is a-mazing. Harry Potter books - J.K. Rowling - (Stephen Fry reading these = basically my childhood and I still love them). Calm App bite sized masterclasses: Stoicism for Modern Life by Ryan Holiday Discovering Happiness by Shawn Achor Radical Compassion by Tara Brach Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert Audible free bite sized series: Get Happy: Introduction to Happiness Calm World: Introduction to Meditation Meditation: Calm App Headspace Insight Timer Music Playlists: Meditative - helps get me into flow state when I'm creating stuff. ​​ Dancing in a jungle or the desert at Burning Man - good for that, or if you're not feeling terribly creative, it might get you in the mood to make something.
